Are you ready to experience the vulnerability that comes with the unpredictable?
Today, I come to you with a bold challenge. Flip a coin to make your decisions today. You may not be willing to determine every decision on a coin flip, but challenge yourself to see how many decisions you can make that way.
Just for today, allow chance to lead you through your day. Whenever you find yourself at a fork in the road, or whenever there is more than one possibility to choose from, ask yourself if you’re willing to flip a coin over it. If you’re undecided, see if you can convince yourself to allow chance to take the lead.
Flip a coin for as many choices as you can today, and experience the journey the chances set you on. See if you learn anything about yourself, or maybe about other people. Explore the risks, the consequences, and the payoffs, and at the end of the day, determine whether this exercise was rewarding for you. Allow yourself today to live a little on the edge; see where living blindly, facing fears, and challenging instincts can lead you.
This challenge is bold, but it may come with surprising satisfaction and lessons to learn that you may not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience.
Just for today, see how many times you can flip a coin. Push yourself to flip it at least once more than you are comfortable with. Think of every coin flip as a new high score, a new personal record.
Tomorrow, you can throw that coin into a well, make a wish, and forget about today’s challenge.
