Give the Homeless Fast Food

It’s uncomfortable to be asked for spare change, isn’t it?

Your good-natured instincts beckon you to help, but the idea that your money could wind up going towards something that could negatively impact the person before you is worrisome.

Maybe you would give them some money, but you use your debit card… and you genuinely don’t have any on you.

What about this? The next time you eat fast food, whether you’re hungry and in the city, or on your lunch break and forgot your sandwich at home, spend an extra $10 and buy a gift card with your meal. It’s an extra $10 that you can spend mindfully.

Keep that gift card in your wallet. The next time you’re asked for spare change, you can offer them that.

You can give it to them knowing your money is going towards a warm meal. The receiver can choose to eat inside at a table undisturbed.

You can have something to give if you haven’t any spare change on you.

Maybe, you may wish to make a habit out of this. What’s an extra $10 spent every time you enjoy fast food? A collection of gift cards to keep in your wallet until you have the opportunity to give one away.

Maybe you’ve thought of other things this can apply to, maybe that’s a thought worth exploring.

It’s something to consider.

Ahhhh!! I love the gift card idea! So many people buy food because they don’t want to give money, and it goes to waste! Doing this asap! I’m one of those who always has my debit card but no cash!
