Hi, I’m Danika!* I’m so happy to have you here. Let me tell you a little bit about how this little corner of the internet came to be.

Way back in October 2020, I stumbled on an online writing contest. The contest said to write about a personal tattoo story for the chance to win one of three prizes. I decided to enter and I wrote a piece called, ‘My First Tattoo.’ When I told my sister about it, she suggested to me that I start a blog. The journey sounded interesting and so I started up a website and at the same time I submitted ‘My First Tattoo’ to that contest, I made it my very first blog post here, too. Back then, I didn’t yet know the direction my website was going to head in, but I did know some things about myself:

I care a lot about happiness. People tend to mistake my optimistic world view as me being naïve to the evils of the world, but that’s far from the truth. I have been through my fair share of troublesome times, and through it all, I was committed to fighting for myself. I spend much of my time in deep and endless thought on how I can better myself and which values I should hold dear to preserve that best version of me. When I started to become happier, I noticed that when I looked around, I saw something much different than I did when I was defeated: I saw a lot of people were unhappy, too. When I was going through hard times, it seemed that everyone around me was better off than I, but as I became whole again, I realized that many of those people were just wearing masks like the one I wore before. This ignited a fire in my chest. I had figured out the steps to become my best self again and suddenly, I desperately wanted that for everyone else. My blog has become my outlet for that. My thoughts are always evolving and completely open to interpretation, but here, I have found a place to share all of the things I’ve been longing to. Even if you don’t agree with everything I have to say, encourage yourself still to think about it further until you discover your own stance on the matter. If my blog can at least be a launch pad for your journey through wonder, that’s good enough for me.

I have an extensive imagination. At any given moment, I have a trillion ideas and stories buzzing vibrantly through my head and so it was natural for me to start sharing some of my imagination here. I wrote my first story when I was a little girl. I was gifted a note book with angels on the cover and that motivated me to write nearly an entire story about angels inside of it. I shared the story with my family as I completed each new part. My grandma often brings that story up still, as since then she has always believed that I should be an author. My parents and my sister have encouraged me a lot as well through the years, insisting I was destined to be a storyteller. Just the same, every English teacher I had in school would say I had the potential to be a writer in the future. I guess I finally listened.
